Nie Wanyin is the head disciple of the Nie sect, and a distant relative of the Nie clan. He is cocky, arrogant, and charming, and playfully flirtatious with anyone who catches his fancy. Even so, he is a genuinely good man, who strives to live simply and modestly, with a good match, many children, flowing alcohol, and friends to spar with.
BACKSTORY
CANON VERSE
Nie Wanyin arrived in Qinghe as a 12 year old named Nie Cheng, ready to cultivate. His father was a Nie, his mother a Yu, and he'd been trained in the Yu ways of espionage and poison since he was young. There is more to train, of course, but his father thought it time he begin learning the Nie ways of cultivation.
When Nie Wanyin earns his saber, and his courtesy name, he becomes the sect's head disciple at a young age. As a shixiong to the future sect leader Nie Mingjue and the second son of the current leader, Nie Huaisang, Nie Wanyin takes his duties very seriously, lest his actions make it harder for his shidi in the future.
He has a playful and carefree demeanor, but make no mistake. He is a man raised to be a leader, and a follower, to be the best right hand man he can be to his future sect leader. He can be cocky and arrogant, or charming and sweet.
He's hot, and he knows it, and he uses it to his advantage whenever he needs to.MODERN VERSE
Nie Wanyin is a businessman. Kind of. He's a spoiled, playboy, rich kid, and as he is supportive to the head of the family, rather than being the heir himself, he finds he has a lot more freedom than his distant cousins do.
